The Oxford Taiwan Studies Programme set to launch with conference

The Oxford Taiwan Studies Programme, part of the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies, will mark its official launch with a conference on 28th November.

The conference will be held at St. Antony's College from 11.30am to 6.00pm, and will include a number of high profile speakers and key academics from across the discipline. This includes keynote lectures from Sarah Liu, Senior Lecturer in Gender and Politics at the University of Edinburgh, and Shelley Rigger, Brown Professor of Political Science at Davidson College. The day will also include expert panel discussions on Taiwanese Identity and Nationalism, and Cultural Politics and Citizenship in Taiwanese Society.

Co-organisers and partners of the event include the Education Division of the UK's Taipei Representative Office, the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies, the Asian Studies Centre at St Antony’s College, and the Oxford University Taiwanese Student Society.
